The humanity which Shen Congwen sacrificed in his Greek little temple became a label carved in his production. either for the readers,or for the critics,the humanity is a key to access his novel world.The humanity is the eternal topic of human literature.It is also the essential theme in Shen Congwen's novel, even turned into the foundation of his literature ideal building and unique perspective he observe the social and life.Faced the country's modernization process,the modern civilization brought an impact on traditional ethics,caused demoralized and humanity dissimilated.All these changes made Shen Congwen very sore,so he wanted to be a therapist,achieve national character reconstruction by creative writing.We can see,Shen Congwen's humanity is non-vacuous.He used his special way to interpret his understanding humanity.In view of this,we have to ask:how did Shen Congwen shows us the humanity?Through the analysis of his novels we found that not only to commend the original life,but also to critic the city life,he showed the humanity of XiangXi peasant and urban gentleman by "desire".To portray "desire"became a personal feature of his novel.So,this thesis writing from the perspective of "desire "to discover the manifestations of "desire writing"and Shen Congwen's psychology and attitude and as a way to writing,where are its limitations.This thesis expects to explore his "desire writing",thus we can unify the humanity of his local fictions and urban fictions,so that we can get into Shen Congwen's Literary Ideal Buildings.
