The Concept-Metaphor, Concept-Metonymy and Metaphtonymy theories in cognitive linguistics are used to do comparative analysis on the c ognitive mechanism of Chinese/Korean features-idiom, thereafter, whos e the similarities and differences concerning formation mechanism and understanding mechanism is figure out. There are five chapters in th is thesis:First, idioms in both Chinese and Korean are defined as "none two-on-two inheritance description language", which means that they are extended meaning of the whole sentence other than the combination mea ning of every word.358 Chinese features-idioms and 310 Korean other ones are divided into four categories according to "eye", "mouth", "n ose" and "ear", then these four categories are classified into small categories according to the concepts of Concept-Metaphor, Concept-Met onymy,Metaphtonymy.Second, The Spatial-Metaphor and Container-Metaphor in the Entity-Metaphor is used to anlyze the Concept-Metaphor of Chinese/Korean fe atures-idioms. In the Spatial-Metaphor of features-Idioms, features a s spatial domain are mapped into four recognition domain:psychology, activity, state and capability. This is the same when Container-Meta phor is mentioned.Third, features-Idioms are divided into two types of Concept-Meto nymy:metonymy between whole and part, metonymy between each part. Me tonymy between object and parts, construction metonymy, Event-Metonym y and metonymy between category and characteristis are used to analyz e the first metonymy, whereas Activity-Metonymy is used to analyze th e second metonymy.Fourth, Goossens proposed two types of metaphtonymy:metaphor fro m metonymy and metonymyembeded into metaphor, by which metaphtonymy o f Chinese/Korean features-idioms is discussed. There are six types of The first metaphtonymy, saying Concept-Metaphor from activity metony my, category and typical characteristics metonymy, and metonymy betwe en object and parts, etc. There are other six types of the second meta phtonymy:production metonymy embeded into Concept-Metaphor, behavior metonymy embeded into Spatial-Metaphor, etc. Finally, as summation, the similarities and differences of Concept-Metaphor, Concept-Metonymy and Metaphtonymy in Chinese/Korean features-idioms is enumerated.
