Hong Ying as a well-known overseas Chinese Women Writer, her writing experience, and the accepting process of the text reflects both the unique characteristics of the times. By case, from which we can glimpse the trajectory of contemporary literature, which involves political, economic and literary, social and other fields, and with a certain representation between the market and literature, literature and media relationships.First, from the media perspective, we can interpret Hong Ying and her works from the comments by media, print media, television media, network media, with these levels to restore the various events of Hong Ying, and explain the reasons to become media darlings. Second, from a purely literary perspective with Hong Ying works of artistic value, and Hong Ying has revealed some underlying reasons of the traditional literary critics can not be accepted. Finally, using part of the symbol theory to summarize Hong Ying phenomenon, analyzing the reasons for Hong Ying become idol symbol.This article focuses on the economy and consumption culture, discusing the relationship between literature and media, literature and criticism, excavating where there's entertainment, fashion, economic factors, and then concluding the new features of today's literary. The case of Hong Ying has important implications to the contemporary literary criticism in this new century.
