Research and theory on the role of emotion regulation strategy in adolescent have received considerable attention in the last decade. The adolescent is in the key development period of mind and body, and it is also in the important transitional period of emotion from instable to stable, which is also the sensitive period of appearing emotion disorder. Much relevant work has concerned the role of regulation strategy.Differences between Response-Focused Emotion Regulation and Antecedent-Focused Emotion Regulation and their relations to parental attachment is discussed. One hundred and sixty-six visually impaired adolescents self-reported on their use of emotion regulation strategies, parental and peer attachment (IPPA), and anxious mood (SAS).Results indicate that:1,Antecedent-Focused Emotion is consisted of avoid, downward social comparison, reappraisal and classical psychological defenses (intellectualization); Response-Focused Emotion Regulation is consisted of suppression and emotion-expressive.2,parental attachment plays an essential role in emotion regulation strategy preference and enhanced use of Response-Focused Emotion Regulation was linked to more anxiety mood, whereas the link between Antecedent-Focused Emotion Regulation and anxiety mood showed no significant.3,Three broad dimensions of parental attachment were assessed in IPPA:degree of mutual trust; quality of communication; and extent of anger and alienation. Each of them played unique influence on visually impaired adolescents'emotion regulation strategy. The implications of findings for typical emotional processes and for clinical interventions are discussed.
