Southern and Northern Dynasty is the time that Chinese literature changed dramatically. The folk songs of Southern Dynasty became an important part in the Chinese poetry world,represented by Wusheng Xiqu which originated from Jiangnan (the rich region). Wusheng Xiqu which is other than tradional gagaku have gentle tune,frank words, express lovesick at heart straightly.The new folk songs aroused controversy at that time including approbation and objection.Although the road from the under echelom to the upper echelom was hard.,the folk songs was able to enter into the palace pompously and gained acceptance from emperors and the nobleman. The Southem and Northem Dynasty literature exchanged as lots of southern literarors moved to the north. The communication succeeded many excellent poets that openned up the prosperity of Tang dynasty poetry.The main content of this thesis is study the folk songs represented by Wusheng Xiqu in the Southern Dynasty including four periods (Song Qi Liang Chen) and reveal the receptible situations from micro perspectives and macro perspectives,than try to find the answers to the different situations.Chapter one,summarize the time,location and characteristics of Wusheng Xiqu referring to ,these folk songs pay attention to individual feeling,recreational spirit run through these songs with fresh style and brief sentence type.Chapter two,choose two valuable works with literary and historiography during the same period. Elaborating respectively on and about the southern folk songs ,try to analyse the causes of their critical attitude toward the new folk songs. Chapter three, elaborating on compiled by Xu Ling and analyse the causes of his positive attitude toward the folk songs'value. Chapter four ,the acceptance of Wusheng Xiqu in the Southern Dynasty,Baozhao and Tang huixiu enjoyed folk songs in Song Dynasty.The Qi Dynasty literary theory and poetic practice definited the form of folk songs and laid the foundations of imiatations prosperity.Large numbers of rulers and lirerators began to imatate the folk songs in the Liang Dynasty.The imatations in the Chen Dynasty merged the southern folk songs and the Han Dynasty folk songs, Chen shubao and the liretators around of him took the poems to the point of gorgeous.This part will lay heavy stess on the literary theories and poetic practice.
