| Su Xue-lin is an amazing woman-writer in Chinese literary history, who spanned two centuries and aged 104 years. She was known as the "literary Nestor"and "Hok-lam centenarians." She worked as a teacher for 50years and her students everywhere.Her writing-times last 80 years, including 65 works more than 20 million words. She set writers, artists, scholars, poets and professors in an award-winning. There were countless prizes belonging to her during centuries of Chinese literature. It's really few to par. Experiencing over 100 years, the bumpy road of life carved her thoughts and writing style pungent but without losing the extreme rationality. Regardless of her own or her compositions are a tangle of contradiction.SU Xue-lin had claimed "54 people" herself, when she disobeyed marriage,reading progress publications and participating social issues debates in public. In that hard times, she dared to grasp their's own destiny, which showed that Su Xue-lin was the intense modern intellectuals, an active feminist advocates. But at the same time, she bowed her head to the traditional arranged marriage and give up personal choice in the "54"movement. Her action was difficult to understand. There were visible conflicts between vision and action:the "compliance" and "anti." towards traditional ethics. Specifically,"compliance" manifested identifing the Confucian tradition culture and ethics; "Anti-"embodied in fighting for self-liberation development needs in the "54" tide. Her marriage was convincing about the conflicts. Su Xue-lin had been washed by "54"new idea tide which included some modern consciousness in the new schools. She intended to implement the family revolution " break off an engagement" even. But finally she succumbed to intimacy and propriety woven net at the expense of her own happiness of lifetime.She became the sacrificial lamb for the sake of her mother's wishes. Similarly, her suffering and contradiction also reflected in her works. She lived without love and dedicated to creative writing and academic research, achieving her alternative breakout in her lifetime.Compared with contemporary woman-writer, SuXue-lin's acting style and moral positions were very different, which had something to do with their family environment,education ground and their own personality. Her attachment to traditional culture and the vision of a new culture represented a kind of ideological trend. However, her thoughts was entrenched by deep-rooted patriarchal feudal so tight that her vision and action weren't always consistent. But her dedication,her bitterness living in the whirlpool and her outright of relaxation couldn't be compared.This thesis uses the method of Woolf s feminism to explore Su Xue-lin and her works. Try to find that as a conscious woman why Su Xue-lin, fell into the shackles of the traditional when whole nation immersed the atmosphere of denying patriarchy completely. At last she came the end of "marry a non-love regret life-long". After pursing hard, Su Xue-lin finally owned "one room of herself", her alternative breakthrough came true at last.Although Su Xue-lin tried her best to balance the gap between vision and action, it's difficult thanks to her contradictory cognitive style and female position demands, which led to her lonely life. Su Xue-lin research trends to get heat. Most of the researchers usually focus on her literature and scholarship achievement but her feelings and inward world.
