On The Political And Cultural Code Of Literature

The political and cultural code is a very prominent cultural phenomenon in the Contemporary Chinese literature. From the appearance in the Seventeen Years'Literature to the further strengthening in the novels of the"Cultural Revolution", there was a bigger change in the Educated Youth novels during the New Period, in particular, it had an alternative embodiment of its another narration. From the growth and decline of the political and cultural code in the Contemporary Chinese literature, we can look into some subtle changes of the Educated Youth Literature in the process of its own development.The foreword section summarizes the current research situation and theoretical background, and then, generalizes the evolution of the political and cultural code in the Contemporary Chinese literature. At the same time, explains the significance of this paper's topic.The first chapter discusses the political and cultural code and the function of intertextuality. After the definition of the term"the political and cultural code", accordingly explains its reasons. In order to carry further argument, I will categorize the political and cultural code and analyze its intertextuality function.The second chapter mainly discusses the political and cultural code of the novels in the Seventeen Years and"Cultural Revolution". This period was the prelude and strengthening in the development of the political and cultural code of the Chinese educated youth novels. By selecting the classic text, I will inspect the change of its appearance and the essential characteristics. Finally, study its intertextuality functions.The third chapter analyzes the political and cultural code of another narration in the Educated Youth novels during the New Period from the three perspectives: First, Li Jian's novel, and his theoretical articles themselves appear as"black humor", the political and cultural code which appears in his novels is a"heterogeneous"and also appears as"black humor".Second, take Wang Xiaobo's, Bi Feiyu's and Yang Jianlong's novel for example, study another narration in the Educated Youth novels during the New Period how to break taboo subject step by step, which represents the distortion of human nature under the time pressure.Third, take Chi Li's, Lin Bai's and Han Dong's novel for example, they are all rendered as parody, and deconstruct the attitude to subvert the political and cultural code. On the whole, these political and cultural codes exist in the recessive state in the texts of another narration in the Educated Youth novels.The fourth chapter mainly investigates evolution of the political and cultural code and its background from the literary concept and ideological trend,ideology,sociology and psychology and so on.From the above study of the origin, current situation and causes of the literary phenomenon, we can find that the development of literature is a force effect. Only by reasonable solution to the nature of literature and deal with the relationship between literature and politics can help to promote the prosperity of literature.
