Research On The Economic Ethical Thoughts Of Sang Hong-yang

As an impalpable force, ethics supports and impels one country's or a nation's economic and social developments, and plays an active role with the osmotic way in the economic and political life.As the establishment and continuous improvements of the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics, economic ethics,which mainly includes the establishment of what kind of ethical values and the following of what kind of ethical norms,enters into the economic and ethics circles gradually. As an important component of the economy, the Chinese traditional economic ethics has not yet attracted sufficient attention, but as the values and one social ideology it necessarily contains the ethical elements of suiting the socialist market economy's developments with Chinese characteristics. So there is much positive and practical value in researching and fully understanding the modern value of the Chinese traditional economic ethics in order to meet the requirements of the Chinese modern market economy.As the celebrated minister owing to his contributions of enriching the period of Emperor Wu in Han Dynasty, Sang Hong-yang's economic thoughts and economic practices had a profound impact on the future generations. Thought it cannot be denied that there was not the concept of economic ethics during that time, Sang Hong-yang in his economic practices, which put forward the economic thinking of the economy, contains a rich ethical thinking that can be interpreted by the modern economic ethical principles. So the author explains Sang Hong-yang's economic ethical thoughts and explores its practical values in the thesis with the perspective of modern economic ethics, which is based on Sang Hong-yang's economic thoughts and his economic practices. The full-text is divided into seven chapters:The first chapter is the literature reviews which will mainly introduce the current situation of the Sang Hong-yang's economic ethics. The current study of the academic about Sang Hong-yang focused on his economic thoughts, the rule of law ideology, the political ideology, especially the economic thoughts as the most, while the research about his economic ethics is relatively scarce. In this part the author will point out the inadequacies of the study and make a brief overview of the current academic thinking on the traditional economic ethics.The second chapter is the introduction which will mainly introduces the reasons and the bases of the thesis selecting, the purposes, significances, methods, contents of researching it, the novelty prediction of the thesis. On the bases of the in-depth study to a series of basic historical sources and the systematic studies the predecessor having made of the Sang Hong-yang's political, economic and rule of law thoughts, the author will ponder on the contents, features and practical values of the Sang Hong-yang's economic ethics mainly according to the essence of the economic ethics and the traditional economy.The author will research on the Sang Hong-yang's economic ethics which embodied in the book of Salt and Iron theory and find out the reasonable value in practice.The third chapter is the introduction about the causes of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics, which is the outcome of the special environment during that period. "Salt and Iron" is the best historical sources. So, in this part the author will make a brief and relevant introduction to the book and bring forward the thesis' studying text. Meantime, the author will introduce the Sang Hong-yang's life and the processes of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics'generation.The fourth chapter is the introduction of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics' main contents, which are very copious. The author will mainly focus on the concepts of justice and interest, beginning and ending, richness and poverty, extravagance and frugality.The fifth chapter is the introduction of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics' main features. Basing on the summary of the main contents of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics, they mainly include the inclination of utility, equal stressing on agriculture and commerce, state macro-control and so on.The sixth chapter is the estimate of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics.The author will appraise the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics objectively and justly from two aspects of its values and defaults. To its values, the author will discuss the theoretic and practical values, especially focusing on the coordination of the latter.The seventh chapter is the summing up and the discussions. In this part, the author will make the conclusions basing on the analyses of the main contents, features, estimates of the Sang Hong-yang economic ethics and furthermore put forward the relevant problems to research in the future.
