Three Chapters Research On 'Huan Yin Lao Qiang'

"Huayin Old Aria" (Hua Yin Lao Qiang) is a characteristic art of shadow play drama which has been popular in Shanxi province. It was originally spread in the local folks as shadow play, and not very well known by people at that time; Getting along with reforming of the acting form in the present age, Huayin Old Aria art started to be welcome on the stages in the metropolises such as Hong Kong, Macao, Beijing, Shanghai and so on, it also has been aroused the interest in the academic circles. By detailed written in three chapter's, this article separately elaborated and discussed Huayin Old Aria's origin, music characteristic and development in contemporary, also discussed the reason why this historic drama inheritance can be still active and well affected by people in nowadays society.Chapter one, with discussions on the original starting place-the location at Shuangquan village, the relation between the'Old Aria' and the puppet drama, the way of the music record, and its music style, the article elaborated the origin of Huayin Old Aria. Chapter two, studied on the main body of Huayin Old Aria's music by analyzing its music's constitution, singing, sound production, the mode and the characteristics, as well as similarities and differences between Huayin Old Aria and the music of other dramas.Chapter three, through introducing the evolves of Huayin Old Aria in present time, the bands and players after the contemporary transformation, and the connections between the evolution of the form of 'Old Aria' and the demands of the city culture, the article gave the inquisition of how the historic Huayin Old Aria adapts to the prosperous stage of performing arts. The research of this article would contribute good enlightenment and reference to those folk arts in the same situation like'Huayin Old Aria', they are running their own course, in which way they could adapt themselves to the contemporary city culture.
