As our country joins WTO and the great development of economic construction, there is a larger demand of professional technicians. The higher vocational English education has drawn lots of attention from the students to the whole society. Although there is a lot of teaching theories that given by the experts, we discovered motivation has a direct effect on efficiency and impact on English study in the teaching process. Motivation is one of the most important non-intellectual factors influence students'performance. It is the inner impetus and source of strength stimulate people's behaviors. To achieve the ideal effect in English teaching, teachers should focus on how to inspire students'deep motivation. Based on the investigation of factors that influent the vocational institute students'English learning motivation and teaching practice, this paper puts forward some suggestions as to how to cultivate the motivation for English learning .Meanwhile, it has made suggestions aiming at English education and classroom teaching in an effort to improve students'achievements of English learning.This article expounded the actuality of vocational education and English teaching, explained some related concepts. I adopted the investigation method to analysis the English learning motivation of vocational institute students, obtained the data, and analyzed the factors that affect the motivation. Then the paper put forward the effective strategies which from multi-angles to cultivate the motivation of the students. I made a conclusion to the investigation at last and brought forward some suggestions to the next research.This paper is divided into five parts: part one is introduction that is the interpretation of developing actuality of vocational education and English teaching, the aim and significance of this study .Part two is the summary of the references, the outline of domestic and foreign theories of motivation and some related definitions. Part three is the investigation and analysis of English learning motivation of vocational institute students. I made a detailed investigation to the students of one Vocational Institute of Technology in Changchun whose major are logistics management. Part four is the effective strategies which from multi-angles to cultivate the motivation of the students. Part five is the conclusion which describes the enlightenment of the study, the limitation and the outlook.
