A Stylistic Analysis Of English Business Statment

In business world, it is vital to transfer an idea from one to another successfully to ensure smooth and efficient business communication. The business English writing is regarded as a whole entity by some scholars in previous studies. However, in this paper, an opposite opinion is mentioned up that business English writing is not onefold, but a composite of various kinds of writings, which includes different sub-varieties. Based on the theories of modern stylistics, this study has attempted to limit the scope to the analysis of business English statement. Because it is more accurate and more scientific in stylistic analysis by the corpus-based approach and the computerized analysis, the compared data and the observation results are shown based on the comparison between BSC (the corpus of Business Statement) and other corpora, including LOBA, BROWNA, MTE, MEE and NEC. In the analysis, it reveals many differences between BSC and each other corpus on graphological level, lexical level, grammatical level and semantical level.
