Along with the development of the social economy and the deepening of reform and opening up, the adolescents always suffer from the huge impact of kinds of cultures and ideas, new change has happened to the socialization of their sex-roles, they suffer from the impact of the trend of neutral appearance. There are a number of boys and girls who we can't distinguish their gender according to appearance. What impact did the neutralization of the adolescents' appearance influences the sex-roles, the relations between the adolescents'appearance and the personality characteristics, these hadn't been researched in the past. So we carry on a research on the Relationship of Adolescents' Sex-roles,Appearance and personality characteristics. This is conducive to a deep understanding of gender roles in internalization and externalization, improve and perfect the measurement of gender roles, besides, it's conducive to guide the socialization of the young people's gender role, and promote the socialization of the young people's sex-roles.Through the study, we found some conclusions following:â… .The questionnaire for investigate the adolescents' appearance is made up of three sud-questionaires. They're the female appearance questionnaire, the male appearance questhinaire and the neutral appearance queationnaire. There are four dimensions in the female appearance questionnaire. They're exterior decoration, clothing styles, clothing color and hair style. There are also four dimensions in the male appearance questionnaire. They're clothing style, hair style, hair length, clothing characteristics.There are two dimensions in the neutral appearance questionnaire. They're the fashion dress and personality dress.They all have a good reliability and validity. It meets the psychological demands, so we can use it as the measurement tool in the area of this study.â…¡.In the female appearance questionnaire and the male appearance questionnaire, the young people of different genders have significant differences in various dimensions; In the neutral appearance questionnaire, there is a significant gender differences in the fashion dress, but no gender differences in personality dress.â…¢.The 10 dimensions of the adolescents' appearance questionnaire have significant differences between grades.â…£.In the female appearance questionnaire and the neutral appearance questionnaire, there are notable difference on the nature of the school. In the male appearance questionnaire, in addition to male clothing styles dimensions the other three dimensions all have significant differences on the nature of the school.â…¤.In the female appearance questionnaire, clothing color and hair style have significant differences on whether the one-child; In the male appearance questionnaire, the four dimensions all reached the significant level on whether the one-child; In the neutral appearance questionnaire, there is no difference on whether the one-child.â…¥.In the female appearance questionnaire, clothing style and hair style have significant differences on whether in the towns or the villages; In the male appearance questionnaire, in addition to hair style, the other three dimensions has reached a significant level on whether in the towns or the villages; In the neutral appearance questionnaire, there is no difference.â…¦.In the various dimensions of the adolescents' appearance questionnaire, in addition to male clothing characteristics, other dimensions all don't reach a significant level on whether class cadres.â…§Masculine gender roles subscale has significant related with gender, grade, whether in the towns or villages, whether class cadres; Feminine gender roles subscale has significant related with gender, the nature of school, grade, whether one-child, whether in the towns or villages; Gender roles scale has extremely significant related with whether one-child, whether in the towns or villages, whether class cadres.â…¨Gender has significant related with the spirit quality, neurotic quality and the total questionnaire. The nature of school has significant related with introverted-extroverted. Grade has significant related with introverted-extroverted. Whether one-child has significant negative related with the spirit quality, neurotic quality and the total questionnaire. Whether in the towns or villages, the spirit quality, neurotic quality and the total questionnaire show a significant negative correlation. Introverted-extroverted has significant related with whether class cadres.â…©Adolescents' gender roles scale has significant related with female clothing style, male clothing style, male clothing characteristics, and the male appearance questionnaire. Personality characteristics questionnaire has significant related with female clothing styles, female hair styles, has significant negative related with female appearance decoration, male clothing style, male clothing characteristics, the male appearance questionnaire, the pursuit of fashionable dress, the neutral appearance questionnaire, the appearance questionnaire. Adolescents'Personality Questionnaire has significant related with femininity, thrifty and cautious, feminine gender role subscale has significant negative related with leadership, masculinity, magnanimous, masculine gender role subscale, Adolescents' gender roles scale.XI In the path analysis of adolescents' appearance, gender roles and personality characteristics, the female appearance have a significant direct impact on the masculine gender roles and feminine gender roles, but the male appearance have a significant direct impact on the masculine gender roles. The male appearance, the neutral appearance, adolescents' appearance, adolescents' sex-role inventory have a significant direct impact on the adolescents' personality characteristics, while the female appearance and the male appearance have a significant indirect impact on the adolescents' personality characteristics through the "masculine gender role", therefore, masculine gender role is an "intermediate variable", and the impact is indirect.
