As early as the ancient Egypt, alabaster was used as perfume container, which was an embryonic form of modern perfume container. A fully developed market economy brings forth to a fashion-oriented modern consumption culture; it is possible, in this background, for more and more consumers to pursue a life with higher demand. Perfume has become an ordinary product instead of luxury goods possessed by the privileged. To promote sales, the perfume industry tries its at most to create excellent designing so as to please and attract consumers from all aspects, be it mental, physical or cultural. The modern perfume now is a vigorous industry by building a special sales system, which is inseparable from the fashion industry.As an important element to express aesthetics in designing, modern modeling succeeds in striking a balance between form and function in order to create the harmony of technology and art. But also, modern modeling method has been restricted by many conditions since it is indeed a package. This essay attempts to analyze these restrictions form the following aspects: the development of perfume container; the history of perfume; the characteristics of modern perfume modeling; the methods of modeling; the application of ornament and the development of craftsmanship. With the help of these analysis, we can better inherit and develop the laws of forms, and evaluate the modeling method from a viewpoint of humanities. To abstract the designing rules systematically and to explore the values of modern modeling method according to the current situation in China will, in turn, bring us more instructive suggestions in modeling methods of modern perfume container.
