In the long process of spread the story , many of the dramas of journey to the West had made indelible contributions to the spread of the Xuanzang'story and had a profound effect on the writing of the rappels masterpiece "Journey to the West" by spreading the story and mysterious plot to people. This paper studies the novel "Journey to the West", and the author attempts to make a concise summary that how the interactive effects between the drama and the novel in ideology and artistry by sorting out the existing dramas of Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.This essay consists of introduction, the main text and conclusion three parts.The first part is introduction, which summarizes the choosing of the topic, analysis of the concept of the drama of the journey to the west and confines the range of discussion in this essay.The main text of this essay is made up of four parts.The first chapter summarizes the drama of journey to the west. The part also talks about the prompt of the novel to the drama.The conclusion summarizes the whole essay and the evolution of the drama, as well as the absorption between the two type of literature, drama and novel,after the completion of the novel.
