This paper aims to have a general study on folk beliefs of the Red Gate Palace in Mountain Tai from the perspective of folklore.The Red Gate Palace is BiXiaYuanJun's Medium temple, also is the first group of buildings located on the winding mountain path. The creation time of the Red Gate Palace is can not be known, it can be rehabilitated in Tianqi six in ming dynasties. The Red Gate Palace is divided into east and west yards, Maitreya is mainly enshrined in east yard,Bixiayuanjun is mainly enshrined in west yard, the two yards were connected by Feiyun Court which across the winding mountain path., The incense is very exuberant in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1990s, the Red Gate Palace was gradually restored, the incense is more vigorous in the Red Gate Palace, especially after small Mountain Tai attached to the west yard.In this paper, I introduce the overview of the Red Gate Palace from the origin of the temple name and the space, the temple history, operation and management and so on,to display the field of pilgrims pilgrimage. The belief of BixiaYuanjun is unprecedented prosperous in the Ming and Qing dynasties, A lot of incense society monuments which left over near the Red Gate Palace were identificated for ancient pilgrimage pilgrims. I use these incense society monuments to analysis the faith activities in the Red Gate Palace in the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,and to give a preliminary study of the incense society which appeared in the Red Gate Palace. The temple is a field that pilgrims gathered most concentrated and the religious activities occurred most frequently, It can display the performance of the pilgrims up to the maximum extent. In this paper, I will use the field survey data integrately to conduct a comprehensive analysis and description of contemporary religious activities. And to conduct a preliminary study of the pilgrimage groups that appears in the Red Gate Palace,combined with Buddhism society in the ren village in taian to conduct a preliminary study of contemporary incense social activities. In this paper I want to discuss the reason of the grand occasion in small Mountain Tai, combined with the ormation and development of small Mountain Tai and faith activities.Through the investigation and research on folk beliefs of the Red Gate Palace in Mount Tai, I hope go to against the backdrop of cultural beliefs in Mountain Tai,to research the reasons for how the contemporary incense so exuberant in the Red Gate Palace, and to study the status of small Mountain Tai from nearly three decades' formation and development.
