The Local Minor Gentry Of South Jiangxi In The Middle Of Qing Dynasty

Gentry is a social groups , who are the peculiar stratum of intellectual, in Ming and Qing dynasty ,they acted as the role that authority of society and culture norm, also brought the important effect on the stability of traditional social order.During the Qianjia era of Qing dynasty, in the south of Jiangxi, a group of minor gentry is very active. " Yudu Sansong " is one of the famous representatives among of them. Mr. "Sansong " including Mr. Weixuan Song Changtu , Mr. Liya Song Huaguo and Mr.Erya Song Guangguo . They all have lived in Jiangxi Yudu county and got through three generations of Yongzheng , Qianlong ,and Jiaqing . At that time ,they took part in the government exam several times in order to become an official ,but not all of them were success .Whatever the results, they all attained to certain scholarly honor and official rank. They interested in the Philosophy of Song and Ming Dynasty and gave the lectures to educative scholars, also made friends with local gentries diffusely, so the religion of Song Ming Philosophy revived once again in local society. But at the same time ,this type of local minor gentry also has another aspect, such as difficult living condition, tiring out by official career ,so their discontented about life is tacit. In that peculiar times, they played the role of which belong to their stratum of society, they are the typical delegate of local minor gentry of south Jiangxi . Furthermore, "Sansong " had written down some beautiful articles ,which have greatly impacted the south JiangXi's history and literature . The papers are included in the book of "The collected works of Mr. Yudu Sansong ". It left a lot of document data for descendant learners to study history and culture of south Jiangxi area.This thesis take " Yudu Sansong " for example , researching the group of gentry of south JiangXi. Through arrange "The collected works of Mr. Yudu Sansong ", study three Mr. Songs' life , such as their philosophical thought, making friends experience , their masterpiece (including ancient poets and prose ),and the interactive relations with local society . The aim which is to reflect and reappearance the true situation of minor gentry in south Jiangxi area at that time .
