Flannery O'Connor is the most remarkable novelist, in American Southern literature after Faulkner, meanwhile she also is a religious authoress attracting much attention and full of her own feature. O'Connor believes in Christianity sincerely. All the creations in her life connect closely with her religious belief. O'Connor died when she was only 39 years old. She finished two long novels and thirty one short stories in her limited creation time. We can see from almost every works that the final purpose of her creation lies in discovering the secret of God giving off blessing. In this term, O'Connor's short stories can most reflect her request of the belief to God. However, Bible, as the classic book of Christianity, has a great influence on her creation. This article is based on theoretical method of studying literature and takes the point of authoress'religious belief to study the relationship between O'Connor's short story creation and Bible culture.The article divided into six parts. Prelude briefly introduces the topic and main idea, the general situation of O'Connor studying both home and abroad, the researching and new points of this article. Following O'Connor's life experience, Chapter one outlines the relationship between O'Connor's creation on short story and religious belief and the influence of Bible culture on her creation, stressing her triple status: Christian Southerner and authoress. Chapter two,three and four are body. Chapter two discuss two main themes out of Bible which run through her short stories: Original sin and Salvation. First, Based on the describing of traditional Original sin, it analyses the crime of human showed from O'Connor's short story, and then the warnings to people that only when you realize your own crime can you be saved. Furthermore, the article points out the reasons of crime which O'Connor takes special notice. After that, surrounding O'Connor's salvation to crime, the article enquires that the using of massive fighting and death is the method of saving to crime, the article enquires that the using of massive fighting and death is the method of saving sinners. She wakes up the sinners that is sleeping in the world of sin and makes them get rid of evil to enter the palace of belief with violence. In O'Connor's opinion, violence and death don't mean ending but reborn. This opinion also comes from Bible. According to Frye's Original critic theory, based on the connection of Bible character,Bible images and O'Connor's short, the article explains O'Connor's short from a new angle. The Negros Status and refugee Jidgak under O'Connor's pen have a kind of inner relation with Bible Jesus O'Connor's. portrays a series of strange image in the method of replacing and demon. Changing to show the anguish state after human lost their belief. When she uses the Bible image, she calls up the collective non-conscious deposited in the depth of their heart and provokes their chorus through enlightening God image and demon image. O'Connor transfers the personal feeling and thinking into an emotion followed by all human and let them stand in the traditions of Bible to think of the destiny value and meaning of human. The conclusion points out the reference and applies to the resource of Bible culture. No matter in creational thought or in the artistic methods. O'Connor points to human at last. The ultimate care to human makes her works across the country boundary, across time and space to the world. However,her ideas about religion are within limits,and are not practical.O'Connor's life pursuit and all her works have traces of relationship to her religious belief. When most of her topics are rooted from Bible and some character model and image symbol from Bible are used in her short story creation, she also mixes with her special life thoughts and form's her own strange style. With all her energy and time, With deep sincerity,O'Connor raised people's attention to the culture of Bible for another times through her short stories.
