A Tentative Research On Global Ethics By Maruyama Takeaki

The history of human social development is a history of interaction between human beings and natural environment. During the process of that interaction, the recognition established by man as the subject of that recognition is called the view of nature. What kind of view of nature dictates what kind of practice brought forward by man. The real nature of current global environmental crisis is in fact the crisis stimulated by interaction between man and the nature. This is also one of problems being explored by politicians and ethnic scholars alike from various countries, and still remains to be solved. At present, intellectuals have offered different opinions and theories regarding environmental ethics, while their aims stay unified, that is, to solve the relationship between man and the nature, thus achieving the harmony thereof. Global ethic thoughts put forward by Maruyama Takeaki lies in concepts such as co-existence between self and others, adjustment and coordination, mutual respect and prosperity, which may provide to us an important and revealing role as to correctly understand the relationship between man and man, man and matter, man and nature, to change to the harmonious development concept between man and nature, to deal justly the relationship between man and nature, to build a harmonious society therein, and finally, to solve environmental problem and realize reconciliation between man and man, man and nature.
