Liaozhai Liqu Ji is a collection of long telling and singing arts. Pu songling, the author of this collection, created it by writing verses in dialects and slangs to some pre-tuned music which was popular in Shandong at that time. There are 15 articles in the collection, among them, seven articles are adaptations of A collection of fantastic stories and the others are creation of the author or adaptations of folk stories. Liaozhai Liqu had been handed down by speaking and listening from generation to generation in a long period. As there was no word which could be used to record the tune, many of the tune names had been lost. In addition, as Liaozhai Liqu was in the dialects of Zichuan district, which is difficult to be understood by people who were living in other district, the spread of it was limited. Meanwhile, as A collection of fantastic stories is more famous than Liaozhai Liqu Ji , the research of Liaozhai Liqu Ji has been slighted by academic circle for a long time. The researchers hadn't pay close attention to it until Liaozhai Liqu Ji was been listed in the The First Batch of Nation-Class Intangible Cultural Heritage in China in 2006. But the research of it was just start. This paper is discussing the origin, ideological content and art content of this collection in the method of text reading. And it is desirable that this paper could bring much better ideas into the research of it.This paper is composed by exordium, the first chapter, the second chapter, the third chapter and concluding remarks. The writing purpose, the present research situation and the significance of research of Liaozhai Liqu Ji is discussed in exordium.The first chapter is discussing the origin of Liaozhai Liqu Ji. The reason that Pu songling created Liaozhai liqu Ji in his later years is that it has an objective environment and a subjective motive of creation at that time. From the perspective of objective environment, ditty was in flourish development from the Yuan to early Qing. The creation of Liqu inherited this culture tradition and remains. There were many dramatists in Shandong, it provided favorable social and cultural environment to the creation of Liqu. From the perspective of subjective motive, Pu songling recognized the dark side of society, and the focus of his work was transferred to the whole society and the common people in the bottom of society. He hoped to attack the social abuse, awake and save the society, and finally kindness would be encouraged while evil be published.The second chapter is the main content of this paper. Liaozhai Liqu is rich in content. This paper summarized its content as the following two parts. The first content is revealing the dark side of society and praising the resistance of people. In this part, the author revealed the evil of bureaucracy in feudal autocracy, criticized the disadvantages of feudal imperial examination system, reflected the vulgar life of people who lived in the bottom of society and praised the heroes who dare to struggle. The second content is reflecting family problems. In this part, the author publicized ethics centered by filial piety and humanity. The family relations it concerns are the relation of father and son, the relation of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, the relation of couples, the relation of brothers and the relation of neighbors. Pu songling also used the Karma pattern such as the crime committed in previous incarnations would paid off, retribution in this life and retribution in next life to further strengthen the effect of encouraging kindness and punishing evil.The third chapter of this paper is discussing the art feature of Liaozhai Liqu Ji. This chapter will discuss the humor way of expression and the way the author used to shape the female image. Pu songling used many kinds of language forms in order to teaching in happiness. These language forms including exaggeration, metaphor, irony and the language he used is very humor. Liqu also shaped a series of females with are rich in character and bright in image. There are virtuous women equipped with virtue and talent, shrewish and envious women, brave and witty uncommon women among the secular women he shaped. There are also some lovely females of alien class which is ideal in people's life. |
