As the "last scholar-official" and the last Jingpai novelist, facing China which just recovered from a catastrophe, and the ethical system in the modern society was disintegrating, Wang Zengqi found the new hope to reconstruct the social order basing on the ancient traditional culture. He took "re-enable the custom-sun" as his main idea. Then in a series novels talking about the old friends and past, he built up a harmonious spiritual home with ancient traditions and culture.This article is divided into four parts, which analyzed the traditional culture factors in Wang Zengqi's"Hometown Series"novels from the scope of thought, art, and content.First of all, for the thought, Wang Zengqi payed his attention to Chinese traditional thoughts.On the one hand, he inherited the "benevolence" of Confucianism. He told us the simple humanitarian spirit in gentle attitude in his "Hometown Series" novels. On the other hand, he has the pursuit of freedom so he felt disappointed towards the Confucian ethical code ,which suppress the natural instinct of the people. Meanwhile, he seek the spiritual relief in Tao's spiritual world . Confucianism and Taoism in his late "Hometown Series" novels complemented harmoniously which forming the core of benevolence, the freedom view of life and escaped from the shackles of secular.Secondly, for the art form, Wang Zengqi was impacted by Chinese traditional culture and arts. The essence of Chinese traditional culture and arts played an important role in his "Hometown Series" novels. In his late"Hometown Series"novels ,we can find the effect of the traditional Chinese prose and painting, Gui Youguang, Tongcheng School's style of writing, the traditional painting of "the spirit of lively" and "staying white space" of skills.Third, for the content, in his late"Hometown Series"novels which describe widely the traditional culture and dietary customs of the later part of Subeili river because he had the deep feeling towards Chinese traditional folklore. These customs of the folklore made his excellent pieces full of geographical customs and national characteristics. At the same time, these folklore factors played a pivotal role in portraying the images and illustrating his main idea. These touching "custom painting" narrated the traditional customs of Subeilixia river. So people got the chance to review the lost precious wealth in their hurry daily life.
