As a result of this, the economy and culture of Yuan Empire have a profound influence to the society of Geryeo and this fully reflect the national assimilation which formed under the powerful governance of Yuan Empire to its subsidiary kingdom. Taking several typical aspects-the change of official position of Geryeo, the prince in Yuan Empire as a virtual prisoner, the marriage assimilating from Yuan Dynasty and Braiding hair and wearing Hu's clothes in Geryeo- as a starting point, this paper expounds this assimilation phenomenon.The following aspects will be studied:一,Summary on the formation processes of the relations between Yuan Dynasty and Geryeo, the recognition and definition of assimilation.二,Due to the bureaucratic system in Geryeo Kingdom imitated that of tang and song Dynasty at its early founding. There are many official positions named after that of Yuan Dynasty's. After the establishment of their tributary relations, as a vassal kingdom, Geryeo forced to change their bureaucratic names attributed to their suzerain bureaucracy.This part, by analysising the historical data, gives a clear picture of the influence the Geryeo government had at that time and the changes that they made on their official positions.三,The staying of the prince of Geryeo in Yuan Dynasty as a virtual prisoner triggered the population movement between Yuan and Geryeo, which permeated Mongolian customs into Geryeo gradually. This part clarrifies the Mongolian customs the Prince has assimilated during the stay in Yuan and the influences of returning of prince on royal-households and common families.四,This part expounds the special national action that is to send women as tribute and its formation, the attitude of geryeo, and the changes of Yuan Geryeo relationships.
