This paper analyzes the damages psychological crisis causes to individuals and the importance of psychological crisis intervention. Based on thorough analysis of the definition of the psychological crisis intervention and modeling of psychological crisis intervention of international scholars, we discovered the limitation of the traditional intervention theory, amended the definition of the psychological cirisis intervention, suggesting an intervention model of'get-help– self-support– help-others'.'get-help'means that we provide psychological intervention to the people in the area of disaster, helping to establish internal resources to face challenges to reach'self-support'.'self-support'means that the people who are receiving the intervention to accumulate capability to self regulation, and self cure. This is also the goal of traditional psychological intervention. However, we believe, this is the transitional stage for individuals in the crisis.'help-others'promotes that the indviduals with partly or whole'self-supporting'stage to help others in the disaster areas, supporing individuals, society, and mentally getting back to the community. This is the ultimate goal of the intervention as well as an evaluation mark of the intervention effect. Through'help-others', one strengthens his own'self-support'ability. The better'self-support'in return helps themselves to have'help-others'capability. This means, we encourage people in the crisis to get to the maintenance of supporing themselves and others. Such an individual behavior of helping themselves and others will make a model of'self-support'in the concept of community. Therefore, the modelcould explain community self support, so that guaranting the support receivers to keep getting outside help and stay in well-maintained social system and effectively avoid reoccuring psychological crisis. The article proposes following theoretical hypothesis: after a disaster, it is hard for someone to rid of pain but keep staying in the psychological crisis. The fundamental reason of this is that over-emphasizing one's own, and mental isolation of himself from the rest of society. Anything that leads them to pay some attention to others and society would alleviate the pain and help them to get out of crisis status. This further helps to develop their rational thinking to set up a good social support systems and the psychological immune. Knowledge of everyday life, social psychology, traditional Chinese culture, emotinal theory, social support system theory, the spirit of objective and subjective analysis theory were used to validate the hypothesis, namely the psychological crisis intervention of'get-help– self-support– help-others'. The model has been verified in the earthquake disaster area of Si Chuan. Using the first hand examples of psychological crisis intervention, the authors analyzes four strategies,'individual to individual','individual to community','community to community'and'outside world to crisis area'. Intervention method, techniques are discussed as well. The effect of using such a model is objectively analyzed. A careful comparison of the'get-help– self-support– help-others'psychological crisis intervention and traditional model has been made. Advantages, disatavantages and future prospects are discussed as well.
