The twentieth century is a century of extraordinary.The status of women in the world has been greatly improved with the rising of feminist movement in the hundred years.Many outstanding women writers emerged in the world finally issued a loud voice in the twentieth century after thousands of years of collective aphasia and release of pent-up energy for thousands of years.Naturally,the women's real life appeared in the women writer's works and ended the history of distorting painted by the male writers.British women's literature in the twentieth century leapt to a new level with climax of the advent of the feminist movement,and the Britain's greatest contemporary writers such as Virginia Woolf and Doris Lessing appeared in the literary world.This article is to explore the Doris Lessing who is the 2007 winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature as well as the evergreen tree in British literature.Although her works covers a broad range of themes,as a female writer,concerning to explore the fate of women has always been an important theme of her works.She has been always paid attention to the survival of the state of women in modern society from her debut "Wild Grass Is Singing" to the novels in which her showed the lives of older women.It is cleared that Doris Lessing's feminist consciousness more conscious and mature than the writers in nineteenth century and the women's living conditions,whether material or mental state have a huge beyond than "Jane Eyre" in her writings.Especially,her "Golden Notebook" was criticized as the companion volume of Simone de Beauvoir's " The Second Sex" because she shaped the first free female image and displayed the plight of their survival in it.Undoubtedly,the feminist consciousness and the women's literature in china lag behind than in the United Kingdom.Although the Chinese women's literature have been very prosperous in the 1920s and 1930s,but then the voices of women keep silence again in the false impression of "men and women are the same".Until the 1980s,women's literature achieved unprecedented prosperity with the large number of translations of western feminist theory and the dramatic changes in social life.This paper is to explore the writer Zhang Kangkang whose writing is very representative during this period and her works always keep in step with the pulse of the times with the development of women's literature.The female characters in Zhang Kangkang's works as herself feminist consciousness gradually mature and mature.They are naive and confused in 1980s,then they experienced the awakening of feminist consciousness in 1980s and the development of feminist consciousness and independence of personality in 1990s and ultimately grow into a group of free women in new century whose female consciousness is strongest in the history of Chinese literature,which Zhang Kangkang successfully demonstrated the dramatic changes of their life in the new environment and the unprecedented freedom of their survival and at the same time she cool to show the plight of their survival in the new era.I chose to compare these two writers and their works in this paper because they both detailed display the process of growth and the plight of survival of the modern free women.In order to obtain some inspiration of liberation of women,I will focus on comparison of two writers' maturation process of feminist consciousness and the survival of state and the plight of the free women,and then to compare their thinking of the free women's future.
