Karl.Jaspers' s theory of existential crisis, which is an important component of his existence-philosophy,occupies a very important position. His theory includes three parts: Jaspers think that modern Westerners have run into existential crisis, which essential should be attributed to the spiritual corruption. This thought of Jaspers was discussed in the first part by analyzing the original living order, which is toppled under the impact of the wave of modernization, and the groundless state of the individual existence. In the second part I will analyze how Jaspers attributes the root of the existential crisis to the collapse of the living world. In Jaspers point of view, due to the manipulation of the standardization, unification, and mechanization, modern Westerners' living world and their spiritual world are all collapsed, and this causes the existential crisis fundamentally. In the third part,I concern Jaspers' tendency of regarding his existence-philosophy as the way of resolving existential crisis, and mainly analyze Jaspers' value orientation of emphasizing that the human is beyond value.Karl.Jsapers' theory of existential crisis mainly offers us inspiration from three sides:the fist is inspiration of philosophical mission, which means that philosophy should regard the question of life as its mission and the ultimate end;Secondly,it gives us inspiration of understanding the meaning of the life,it inspires us that the significance of human existence and human value not merely consist in pursuing the actual material value, spiritual value is more important than material ones; The third side is the inspiration of modern development, the process of modernization need not only pursuing economical increasing and economical benefit, but need raise human value.Of course, there are limitations in Jaspers' existence-philosophy,for instance, his attribution of the significance of the man' s existence to the inner experience of the God,which exists transcendally, shows strong religious colors.
