Human freedom is eternal philosophical discourse,freedom and human is inseparable,the freedom issue is human issue.This thesis explores evolution of the Western concept of freedom and focuses its study on Marx's concept of freedom. Marx's concept of freedom is different with the west bourgeoisie concept of freedom. Marx thought that freedom is concrete,historical,and real universe freedom.Marx start from practice states,try to find freedom and the inevitably unified life practice foundation,promulgates relation between freedom and human kind of life essence. And in so doing,we can understand better Marx's concept of freedom in the aspect of perceptual practice and how it can be achieved.This thesis comprises three parts.The first part begins with the evolution of the concept of freedom in the West.And by analyzing and explaining the concept of freedom in the west,the author claims that in the late development,rational concept of freedom deviates from rationality.Marx starts from perceptual practice and he claims that human beings in the process of continuous development achieve their freedom by practice.The second part Marx's concept of freedom,around the essence of the freedom practice,mainly from three aspects:human nature;freedom and inevitability;what freedom is;and in this part,Sartre emphasizing the individual's absolute freedom addresses the issue of human freedom irrationally.Irrationalism could not escape the patterns of rationalism,starting from human's living and ultimately back to the abstract theory of human nature,the plight of Jean-Paul Sartre's concept of freedom and contradictions are stated.The third part starting from perceptual practice states that human beings come into being by practice and in the process of practice they improve themselves and demonstrate their freedom.And this part also explains Marx's concept of freedom as well as a realistic way to achieve freedom.In short,this thesis is based on previous studies and comprehensive understanding of the research literature both at home and abroad as well as original works of Marxism.And in this thesis methods such as comparative study and literature study are employed.To solve people's puzzle about and to help them understand better the concept of freedom,especially Marx's concept of freedom,the author compares Jean-Paul Sartre's and Marx's concept of freedom.So that Marx's concept of freedom will be understood and accepted by the people in the new era and develop along the process of human development.
