The Analysis Of Private Foundation's Participation In American Cultural Diplomacy Function

American Foundation is American unique phenomenon as a complete system,large quantities and huge scales.American private foundation have played an important role not only in American society,but also in American cultural diplomacy.The private foundation devotion to cultural diplomacy was influenced by the traditional philanthropy,political philanthropy and conflicts at home and abroad.On the one hand,the private foundation functioned positively to advance international cultural exchanges.On the other hand,as a part of American social regines,it must serve its natioal interets all along which makes its cultural hegemonic actions inevitable.This paper includes five parts.The guiding part presents the main problem and the purpose of the study,explains the concepts methods,frame of content,difficulties and creative point which are concerned in the research.In this part,it also takes an exiting part researching results on the basis of the outline of reference book.The second part summarizes the the American Private Foundations' motivations of participating in cultural diplomacy,according to defining,classifying and analysising the reasons for the rise of the American Private Foudations.The third part analyzes the American Private Foudations as a whole in terms of inductive and comparative methods,and reseach on he operating mechanism of the American.Private Foundations on the base of Carnegie,Rockefeller,Ford and other relatively large private foundations.This is a significant innovation.The forth part analyzes the positive and negative aspects of the American Private Foudations in cultural diplomacy,and proves that ideology output was American cultural diplomacy's main nature.This will help the Chinese government pay more attention to the national cultural security,and prudent to deal with the relationship about the American cultural diplomacy.
