Based on behavioral and psycho-oncology researches,social factors are proved important to emergence of cancer.However,how these factors work and how intervention should be done is still to be probed.Frequently seen mental factors include emotion,personality characteristics,life events,individual sensitiveness,stress.Coping style is an important medium factor of stress.Coping style of sufferers from intestinal cancer is an important research factor of this research.Psycho-analysis ideas maintain that different diseases embody different psychological contents.This research choose sufferers from intestinal cancer as objects,utilizes questionnaire method,imagery communication method and interviewing method.Thirty nine patients participated in questionnaire research; fourteen patients volunteer in interview.Results:there is statistical difference between coping styles of patients with intestinal cancer and that of those who are not.Patients with intestinal cancer tend not to seek help or rationalize what they have done.There is a high frequency of stalactite in images of patients,who are comparatively busier and share less interaction with family as compared to those who don't suffer an intestinal cancer.
