This paper is intended to discuss the oil paintings since reform and Reform and opening-up of China from 1978 to 2008. Nowadays, the plastic arts has been aesthetic, the art direction has been market-oriented overall. As a painter what attitude should we hold? Painting modeling language has become more formulization and styles, The starting point for creative work are inclined to interests. The standard not based on the art regular pattern which include the creativity and aesthetic features, but to see prices that high. Many artists lost conduct of the art and the creativity of the arts of the sensitivity, and idleness in pursuing the quality of work and the life of art. They lost the independent attitude as an artist. This paper based on re-examining the meaning of painting in the new period and confirming the artist's subjectivity and social responsibility. On this basis, I want to re-establish the art of "looking up" concept. On this matter' s serious thought will inevitably involve the following questions, the concept of ideology in contemporary China, the traditional of art aesthetics and the relationship between art and capital. In this paper, I want give a preliminary discussion of the comprehensive in these areas which I reflect on in these past few years.This paper is divided into three parts, First of all, I confirmed the Chinese painting' s idealized posture in eighties of the twentieth century. Next, I discussed the wave of commercial schema and art market-oriented which impacted on painter' s work, so as to reflect on the current painting practices encountered kitsch. Finally, I stand the independent position of the painter to think the cultural content and reflect the painting in the period which are material concept and the value of first view and the concept of the spirit' s lost. And in order to re-find the spirit of contemporary painting and the artist's observation of an independent attitude.
