The academic work of Mashi Wentong Kan Wu written by Yang Shuda, is a reflection of his own views from a various of perspectives such as "Zi", "Ci" and "Judou" as well as a book indicating his early opinions on grammer. The academic work is one of the first series of books commenting on Mashi Wentong. Oppugnation on Wentong is the most representative article in the studies on Mashi Wentong in the early times, which was composed by Tao Kui in 1916. This article makes specific supplements and corrections to Mashi Wentong. The second one is Mashi Wentong Kan Wu which was composed by Yang Shuda in 1929. This thesis discusses the theory of "Zi" and the theory of "Ci" in the Mashi Wentong Kan Wu. The discussion about the theory of "Zi" includes the topics of character type, the gemination of "jing zi", problem of "Suo", adverb for the number, indicative "Jing Zi", the controlling scope of "Zhuang Zi"and the quantitative matter of "Jie Zi". The part of discussion about the theory of "Ci" includes the content about "Jia Ci" and "Zu Ci" and the content about the distinction between "Dun" and "Dou".Regarding the theory of "Zi", Yang Shuda contributes the theory that word has three kinds and one word can be categorized into different kinds. For the geminated "Jing Zi", Yang Shuda holds that the "indicative Jing Zi" is not "Zhuang Zi" but "Jing Zi", after it is geminated. For the problem of "Suo", Yang Shuda negates the viewpoint of "Suo" in Mashi Wentong, which indicates that "Suo" is "Dai Zi". He views that "Suo" is the "Zhu Zi". With respect to adverb for number, Yang Shuda contributes the concept of adverb for number, but negates that a part of word's character can be regarded as "Dai Zi" by Mashi Wentong. Regarding "Indicative Jing Zi", Yang Shuda negates the viewpoint of "Dai Zi" for indication, and proposes the concept of "Jing Zi" for indication. Regarding the controlling scope question of "Zhuang Zi", Yang Shuda questions the controlling scope of some "Zhuang Zi" in some examples of Mashi Wentong. He holds the view that wherever the "Zhuang Zi" is placed, "Zhuang Zi" can always control predicate. With regard to the quantitative matter of "Jie Zi", the number of "Jie Zi" raised by Yang Shuda is far more than the Mashi Wentong.Furthurmore, the discussion of this thesis is about "Ci" theory. Yang Shuda casted doubts on the concept of "Jiaci" in a early stage. He supplements a conception named as "Zhuci" to this concept. Regarding the question about "Dun" and "Dou", Yang Shuda's study discussed the distinction between "Dun" and "Dou" to clarify the different definition of "Dun" and "Dou".This essay is mainly to discuss those theories proposed by Mr. Yang Shuda and to probe his viewpoints on grammer. Meanwhile, the discussion is to make a preliminary assessment about the importance of Mashi Wentong Kan Wu in grammer. There are many unique grammar opinions about "Zi" and "Ci" in Mashi Wentong Kan Wu. Those opinions were advanced thoughts at that period of time. Those opinions have laid very good foundation for afterward grammar study, functioning as very strong inspiration and instruction to the following study.
