In this paper, I have taken painted map in the Ming Dynasty as a research object, painted map in terms of performance techniques or form, embodied in both a higher artistic value. and many painted maps for the Only Existing Copy map, even if there is also one of the few copies, especially significantly valuable. Through researching the symbols colors layout and other artistic expressions of the painted map in the Ming Dynasty , and analyzed for each case, to summarized maps' characteristics of this period, and then combining the art of Chinese painting style and aesthetic ideas Theory of a preliminary order to study the level of cartography in ancient China developed to a peak of artistic expression. At the same time,Comparing the two maps of which brought by Matteo Ricci who came to China in the Ming Dynasty ,Through horizontal comparison of the "mixed Daming map" and Matteo Ricci "Yunkun with ten thousand country-wide map" which in the same space but different times of the two World Through the methods of induction, summing-up, comparison to prove the artistic maps, in order to broaden the research field of art design , and enhance the new understanding of China's traditional culture.
