Studies On Shi Menglan

Shi Menglan, honored as"the first person in the Eastern Beijing Area", was the famous character in the Eastern Beijing Area during the mid and late Qing Dynasty, however, his studies was still very limited after over one hundred of year. Studying on his biography and family's social standing, making friends and writings, his thoughts concerning social, local chronicles and palace's poetry, this article tries to do more comprehensive research about him, moreover having his stereoscopic grasping. As a base above, this article tries to reveal Shi Menglan's characteristics, thus investigates his contributions and historical situation.
