Study On The History Sequence Of Lamps In China

This paper study based on the history of lamp design in China,analyze the design feature and cultural meanings and specialize in the shape,technique and regulation of lamp design.The first chapter mainly discusses the cultural background of lamps of China. The lamp history of China contains many artistic things.When other country had no lamps,China had good fame in lamp design.In the primitive time,human stabled fire gradually and the devices which fixed the fire became original lamps.The olden lamps included many styles,in addition,they were very useful and beautiful.The second chapter focuses on studying the different stage of lamp design.In Chan Kuo,mental technics got into a new era,bronze lamp was a new material,it was used widely by upper-layer people,pottery lamp was also generated at that time. Judging form the relics of lamps,bronze lamp was few in Chan Kuo.During Qin and Han Dynasty,the development of architecture and living standard of people,lamps were used by a large amount of people,especially bronze lamps were produced and enter into a new era.Because of the continuous wars during Weijin and Nanbei Dynasty,society became turbulent and economy,culture developed very slowly,formative arts was influenced by Buddhism' thoughts,pottery and porcelain lamps were used extensively,what'more for celadon lamps.Tory Dynasty had developed a lot,China's culture promoted very fast and reach the peak of previous culture.During this period lamps were produced and they had two functions,that is illumination and decoration.Ancient lamps developed according to folk lamps and palace lantern.Song and Yuan dynasty,economy and science made much progress,lamps were divided by ordinary lamps and burial lamps.Ceramics techniques grew very much and ceramics production was pretty prosperous.Ming and Qing Dynasty created the most splendid culture in old China.The most contribution in lamps was the material of lamps and candleholder became more and more rich.Apart form metal,ceramics,bowlder,etc.enamel and glass were also invented.The third chapter explains the artistic feature of lamp design in China.The molding was very vivid including plants,animals and human shapes.In addition the structure of lamps was also emphasized.Also,the practical respect was paid attention to as well.The fourth chapter principally discusses the esthetic aspect of ancient lamps. There are so many esthetic regulations in design,and the lamp design also reflects them.With the development of science and technology,new materials are originated by and by,so many new materials are applied in lamp production.At the same time, decorative techniques were appeared to produce various material lamps.The conclusion analyze traditional lamps have effect on modern lamps and new tendency of modern lamps is also put forward.
