Today's global economy requires career-specific language that includes workplace culture and jargon for safe, effective delivery of professional services and the ability to coordinate research and treatment across borders. Medical English as a branch of ESP, is different from general English with its mass medicine-featured glossary, complicated abbreviations and diversified culture-related knowledge. It has become the greatest challenge for medical students to further their English study. The student-student interactive approach turns out to be an effective and efficient way to help medical English learners cultivate their interest and improve their performance.Relevant research on classroom interaction at home and abroad and the theoretical basis are introduced in Chapter One. Chapter Two deals with the methodology of the experiment, including the instruments, subjects, the experimental procedure and data collection. Chapter Three presents findings and discussion. Based on the results of data analysis and detailed discussion, the hypothesis has been supported. Chapter Four focuses on the implications, limitations of the present research and suggestions for further study. This study proves that the student-student interactive model is applicable and beneficial to medical college students learning medical English. After the empirical study, some implications are suggested and findings are revealed. Though limitations still exist in this study, it may make contributions to the future research in this field and will shed light on other ESP teaching as well.
