| V.S. Naipaul is one of the most prominent writers in contemporary Caribbean literature, and the existential problems of the colonial people have always been his concerns. This thesis is dedicated to one of his the most prominent works A House for Mr.Biswas. Enlightened by the theory of the space, the author of this thesis focuses on the analysis of spatial anxiety of the protagonist of A House for Mr.Biswas through the application of spatial criticism, and tries to figure out the deep reasons of the spatial anxiety and thus to know the significance of the protagonist's escaping from the spatial anxiety. Through the analysis, we can have a better understanding of the spatial anxiety of V. S. Naipaul who has a complex cultural background. |
