Psychological problems of adolescences are flooding into nearly every inch of this society, thus the mental health education of adolescences has been seen as a crucial research subject. Self-esteem, an important factor affecting the adolescences' mental health, has raised great attention of more people. The self-esteem of blind adolescences, who make a special group in the total adolescences, is of great importance in affecting those people's mental health. Therefore, it proves to be significant to do a research of the situation and characteristics of the blind adolescences' self-esteem, and find a mental health education method to promote the self-esteem level of this special group. This study is divided into two parts: the first part adopts the self-esteem quantitative form to make investigation and study on 1250 young people, in which twenty-twenty adolescences are 1050 and blind adolescences are 200. This self-esteem quantitative form aims to sum up the situation and characteristics of the adolescences' self-esteem, and emphasizes the self-esteem situation and characteristics of blind adolescences. The other part is the intervening study of blind adolescences' self-esteem, which applies the method of direct intervening oriented, indirect intervening assists, and group intervening oriented, individual intervening assists. This study chooses 11 blind adolescences as experimental subjects and divides them into experimental group and control group with the random method. Furthermore, it makes intervening to the experimental group and non-intervening to the control group according to the experiment result. After that, it applies the measuring form, member feedback, case analysis and many other methods to make quantitative and qualitative analysis of the intervening result. The final result indicates that the experimental group's self-esteem level may be greatly promoted after intervening. The conclusion of this study is:(1)The overall self-esteem level of adolescences in Shanxi Province is not high enough, and the adolescences of low self-esteem occupies 16% of all; The self-esteem level of blind adolescences in Shanxi Province is not optimistic, and the percentage of low self-esteem blind adolescences in their group is as high as 18%.(2) There is a significant difference between the overall self-esteem levels of twenty-twenty adolescences and blind adolescences, that is, the self-esteem level of common adolescences is apparently higher than that of blind adolescences.(3) There is a significant difference between the overall self-esteem levels of different genders, the overall self-esteem levels according to the situation of whether the experimental subject is the only child of his family, the overall self-esteem levels according to the different birthplaces of experimental subjects, the overall self-esteem levels according to the situation of whether the experimental subject is the student cadre, the overall self-esteem levels according to the examination rankings of experimental subjects, that is, the self-esteem level of boys is apparently higher than that of girls; the self-esteem level of singletons is apparently higher than that of non-singletons; the self-esteem level of city adolescences is apparently higher than that of country adolescences; the self-esteem level of student cadres is apparently higher than that of non-cadres; the self-esteem level of top-ranking adolescences is apparently higher than that of back-ranking adolescences.(4) There is no significant difference between the self-esteem levels of blindadolescences of different genders, and the change of the result has no apparent relationship with the following condition: whether the experiment subject is the only child or not, whether his birthplace is city or country, whether he is the student cadre or not.(5) There is a significant difference between the self-esteem levels of blindadolescences according to the examination rankings of experimental subjects, that is, the self-esteem level of top-ranking blind adolescences is apparently higher than that of back-ranking blind adolescences. (6) The difference test result of experimental group and control group in both pre and after test periods indicates that, the self-esteem intervening decreases the self-esteem level of experimental group. That means, the self-esteem intervening is effective in promoting the self-esteem level of blind adolescences.
