With the development of the research of the university English teaching, the people realize gradually that there are many factors affecting the foreign language study, besides the teaching material, the teaching method, the learning environment and so on external factor, learner oneself is a very important factor. Since the 1970s, the research of the foreign language teaching has changed its focus from seeking the best teaching method to studying the main body. In this research area, the language learning strategy which the learner uses receives researchers' widespread attention. The massive research indicates that the language learning strategy and the verbal skill has the close relationship. The using of language learning strategy affects the language learning skill and the achievement finally. The value of university language learning strategy's research is improving the research of the university English teaching and helping the student learn how to study. All this have the theory and the practice significance.The author found a kind of situation that the students in the university period spend massive time studying English not obtaining the ideal effect. At first, this paper elaborated the language learning strategy's research course, the background which the strategy research emerged and the development of the research. Next it carried on the summary to the domestic and foreign researcher's research results, including the learning strategy definition, the influencing factor and the classification. All this provided the reliable theory base for the following research. Then, using the related achievement of the domestic and foreign scholars in the language learning strategy research, through the way of the questionnaire and interview, this paper made an investigation to study the use of the language learning strategy of the university student. Finally it raised some suggestion to the teacher and the student, expecting it could help our country's university English teaching.In the university English teaching, the teacher should help and guide the student to learn to adjust and utilize the strategy, advance student's English level. The teacher should use the scientific way to enhance the student's study efficiency and cause them to use the good learning strategy to control own study method and the process. The student should also understand the language learning strategy, grasp own study method; improve the ability of using the study strategy and advance the English learning capability and level.
