The Varation Of The Rorschach Depression Index Before And After The Treatment Of Depression

Depression Index (DEPI) is one of the indicators in Exner's Comprehensiv e system, and was considered by some variables related to depression, it's use d to predict depression. The validity of the depression index has been subject t o dispute. Some studies support its diagnostic capabilities, but there are also st udies demonstrating its poor diagnostic effectiveness, the false negative rate, an d the lower sensitivity.In light of the deputation the two DEPI validity of the analysis, this studywill conduct a quasi-experimental research in China, in order to investigate D EP-I's validity. The study is conducted mainly through the following manners:1. Analyze the differences between the Depressed patients' before and after treatm ent Rorschach records;2.Compare the values of the DEPI and SDS and the EP Q'S N scores of patient's before and after treatment Rorschach records;3.Analy ze the diagnostic consistency of DEPI and SDS and EPQ's N scores.The study has found that: the value of DEPI were significantly different b etween the test before and after treatment , and DEPI scores was significantly associated with the SDS (r=0.582, P=0.000) , but DEPI value did not have an y correlations with the EPQ scores. The results prove that DEPI has some em pirical validity. In addition, we analyzed the inspective rate of DEPI before an d after treatment, and found that the cut point of 4 of can make its false nega tive rate and the false positive rate relatively low, the former is 42.9% and the latter is 31.3%. Finally, we explored the diagnostic consistency of DEPI, SDS,and EPQ's N scale, and we found that only DEPI and SDS's diagnostic resul t had high consistency, the consistent rate is 73%. At the end of the study, wemade a number of recommendations for future research, and facilitate followin g researchers to continue to study on this field.This study contains four studying stages: The first stage is to get foreign literatures available on this topic, and get a preliminary understanding of domestic and international study on the depress ion index;The second stage is to collect samples of depression, and give them the Rorschach test, SDS and EPQ before the treatment;The third stage is to give the depressed patients Rorschach test, SDS and after the treatment;The fourth stage is to get the scores, and input them into database for sta tistical analysis.
