| Hemingway is a world-renowned writer whose influence can still be felt today. His works and legendary life experience attracts both ordinary readers and literary critics. Since the emergence of ecocnticism, due to the fact that Hemingway is a writer closely identified with nature and many of his works touch upon the topic of nature, his works have been extensively studies by scholars. In China, there are large numbers of researches done on Hemingway in the light of ecocriticism and accomplishments have been made. Yet there are also some problems concerning domestic ecocriticism of Hemingway due to various reasons. In order to learn from past errors and carry forward sound and effective critical methods, the author of this thesis intends to make a review of these researches done at home and hopes this review can be of assistance to researches to be done in the future.This paper consists of four parts. Part one is Introduction, which presents information about Hemingway and ecocriticism concisely. Part two is about the origin and development of ecocriticism, as well as the discussion concerning anthropocentrism, which is a central issue to ecocriticism. Part three is the central part, which discusses domestic ecocriticism in detail and analyzes its problems with examples. The forth part is about the influence of theoretical research. Part five is conclusion, though short and concise, is what the author really wants to say aboutdomestic ecocriticism of Hemingway. |
