Children's World In Chinese Novel During 1980s

In ancient China, children were considered as"narrowed adults"and were limited to the "son of the father as the key link" of the moral system. The image of child appeared in the literature until the time of The May 4th Movement. When the development went to the 80's of 20th century, the image of child often appeared in the literature. The course started with scar literature, reflection literature, reform literature, youth literature, and to root literature, pioneer literature, new realist novels, as well as some schools which we can not named. Children images recurred through this course. Mo Yan, Su Tong, Yu Hua, Chi zijian, Wang anyi and so on, all these behalves of writers which are popularly concerned by critics are more than once involved image of child in their writings and concerned about children.This paper will define "child" as in the scope of the age under 18, which bases on the United Nations'"Convention on the Rights of the Child" as well as Chinese "Law on Protection of Minors". A lot of literary works also make emphasis on the special age of 18. For example, Yu hua's produces"Go out for travel at 18 years old"and"Event on April 3rd"both stresses the 18-year-old children in the day with a nervous and fears entering the adult world of social life. However, in the literary works of the 1980s, the substantial creation of children's literature should not be included in this paper's scope of seeing about. Although children literature has a main narrative of child, the readers'specificity of children literature makes its creation have a strong normative which is very different from adult literature. Therefore, this paper will not include the children literature into study area.This paper will limit the topic at the time of 1980s when the children images numerously emerged in the writers'important literature works, as well as keep the main point on works and writers to study the key features of the images of child in 1980s novels.The first part of this paper analyzes literature produces separately through child's physical and mental development, political environment, adults'impact on children, children's perceptions of the adult world and so on. All these clues are to study the overall characteristics of the image of the child. In the children works during 1980s, more attention was paid to children inner world's change during their process of growing up. It is small to minor changes in physical development and is large to the ups and downs of political environment. Any little case in life will have an impact on children's growth. It can be said that children depiction is a kind of narrative writing strategy. By child-specific purity of heart and eyes to treat the entire world, it is without any secular utilitarian prejudice and etiquette. This makes the writers easier pay attention and looks at the adult life which is already familiar by them, as well as has a clearer understanding of the world. By analyzing the writers'magnum opus, we can see that the children created by writers are assumed to their reorganization and consideration about the world.
