Judge et al.(1997)proposed a new concept of personality trait which they termed core self-evaluation and defined it as basic evaluations that individuals hold about their capabilities and values. According to Judge et al (1997).This concept is a broad dispositional trait which is a higher order factor indicated by four more specific traits—self-esteem, generalized self-efficacy, locus of control and emotional stability. Since core self-evaluation was proposed by American researcher Judge, the research of core self-evaluation has been drawing a lot of attention of many psychologists. Subjective well-being is the evaluation to the whole quality of life, which is a rule designed by the individuals themselves, it includes two components: cognition and emotion. It is an important comprehensive psychological index to measure the mass of people's life satisfaction, as an important part of the positive psychology, subjective well-being has been a hot topic in the field of psychology. High school students are in the critical period of character formation and individual development, to study their core self-evaluation and subjective well-being deeply will have special theoretical significance and important practical significance.The purpose of this paper is to study the subjective well-being of high school students in Qingdao from the new perspective of personality traits—core self-evaluation, and clear the relationship between core self-evaluation and subjective well-being. The theoretical significance of this paper is to verify the core self-evaluation theory, so as to win some theoretical innovation in the context of Chinese culture, expand academic horizons, and to promote the communication between different cultures about the personality theory of self. The practical significance of this paper is to explore the adaptability of the core self-evaluation among high school students of Qingdao, and to provide high school students a guidance on understanding and evaluating themselves, and provide the society an evidence to improve the psychological qualities, quality of life and the psychological healthy level of high school students.The research translated the foreign scale first, on this basis, the research took 90 high school students in Qingdao as sample, revised the Core Self-Evaluation Scale, and then the research used the revised Core Self-Evaluation Scale, the Social Support Scale and The State Self-Esteem Scale as research tools, took 250 high school students in Qingdao as sample, used independent sample T-test the single factor variance analysis and the Pearson correlation analysis to statistic, explored the present situation and the relationships between core self-evaluations and subjective well-being. The major work and conclusions of present paper are as follows:First,The Core Self-Evaluations Scale which is translated and revised in the research includes eight items. This scale has good reliability and validity. Second,the core self-evaluation of the high school students of Qingdao have significant differences on gender, boys scored higher than girls .There are no significant difference on family structure, sources or grade.Third, the subjective well-being of the high school students of Qingdao have significant difference on gender, girls have more positive emotion than boys higher than boys .There are no significant difference on family structure, sources or grade.Fourth, in various dimensions of life satisfaction, friendship satisfaction and family satisfaction get the highest average score, the environment satisfaction and academic satisfaction gets the lowest average score.Fifth, there are significant positive correlations between core self-evaluations and life satisfaction with its various dimensions and positive emotions.
