In this paper, I intend to probe into the potential relationships between people's endorsement of certain values and their identity styles, with a sample consisting of adolescents and early adults from mainland China. The value items of the questionnaire are based on the individualistic-collectivist value typology, and identity styles are measured using Michael D. Berzonsky's Identity Style Inventory. Three identity styles are conceptualized by Berzonsky, namely, the informational, the normative, and the diffuse/avoidant identity styles. Since no similar research has been conducted in a Chinese context, many peripheral variables, such as people's age and birth place, have also been included in this investigation for explorative purposes.
