One example is the event of "the three monarchs' extinguishing Buddihism". Therefore, the battle between Buddhism and Taoism began. These two religion's dissension lied in not only in theories but also in practice. With the spreading of Buddhism, there appeared some religionists who claimed that Buddhism and Taoism have the same origin since Song dynasty .However, this was just agreement or introject in theory. In reality, the battle between the two religion was worth pondering. The battle between Buddhism and Taoism on Mountain Lao happened in the "Wanli" year, Ming dynasty, which was about the Taoists' accusing the Buddhists and last 15 years. This paper hackles the historically developing venation, analyzes the historical background and general situation about the battle, expounds the historic meaning which the battle exposed, reflects the cruelty of the fights in royal court in Ming dynasty, reveals the relation between Taoism and politics and scans the relation between the elisor and politics in Ming dynasty. This is a battle for political rights between governors besides the conflicts between Taoism and Buddhism on existing and developing. The result of the lawsuit was all decided by the monarch, elisor is the monarch' s instrument for the despotism. This event caused and positive effect on the development of Taoism on Mountain Lao, which thus had some development in the year of "Wanli". This is impartible with the need of the governor .With the development of the commodity and economy in Late Ming dynasty, Taoism became secular, this lawsuit is an typical case, through which the paper exposes that the essential of Taoism is the belief of immortal, which pursues living for ever but regards the temporal benefit.By the study on the site of Haian temple on Mountain Lao, this paper aims to analyze the battle between Taoism and Buddhism and then hackle the developing skeleton of Taoism on Mountain Lao, enrich the cultural connotation of Mountain Lao ,the famous traveling sight and has a great value on accelerating the development of tourism and economy of Mountain Lao.
