The emergence and development of the Han-Dynasty portrait arts was a kind of social and cultural art phenomenon and results in Chinese historical development. From medium stage of Western Han Dynasty to the last stage of Eastern Han Dynasty, the portrait art developed with the development of social elaborate funeral convention. Since Chinese stone basso-relievo is the drawing form combined by drawing and carving with the decorated function, it characterizes both features.
