Comparisons And Researches On The Location And Time Prepositions In Recent Chinese

This paper takes the location and time prepositions as the research subject.Firstly, in diachronic perspective, comparing the location and time prepositions in recent and current Chinese, this paper is to draw some general phenomena and regular features from the development of the location and time prepositions from recent Chinese to current Chinese.Secondly, in synchronic perspective, this paper is to compare and study the location and time prepositions in current English. 1. to compare the structure of time and prepositions: study the position of predicate word and prepositional words; study the structure of prepositional phrases. 2. to compare the'static'and'dynamic'location and time prepositions: classify the location and time prepositions into small sorts and compare their features longitudinally and laterally. 3. to choose proper location and time prepositions: compare the choice of the proper sorts if location and time prepositions in terms of semantic and syntactic needs. 4. to make analysis of the position and definitions of location and time prepositions: categorize some location and time prepositions as place preposition, beginning preposition, end preposition and direction preposition, study them, compare the similarities and correspondence in location and time system, and find the differences in definitions and flexibility of their position.
