Learning adaptability is a kind of psychological tendency which a learner overcome difficulty and keep consistent with learning environment and acquire batter learning efficacy. However, the actual studies show that the learning adaptability of quite a few college students is worse. How to improve their learning adaptability is an urgent problem which must be solve for University Education. A lot of results from experimentation, across the realm of and comparison of the research have approved that academic self-efficiency play important role on learning motivation, performing of task and self-regulation. So, we thought that learning adaptation should have close relationship with academic self-efficiency. By studying the characteristics of learning adaptation and academic self-efficiency and their relationship for college student in different sexes, grades and subjects, the method for improving the learning adaptation were discussed in this paper.1200 college students from1-4 Grades and 40 majors were investigated in Qingdao University, Ocean University of China, Qingdao Agricultural University, Qingdao University of Science & Technology, Shandong Jianzhu University and Henan University of Science and Technology. The tools used in investigation were the test of learning adaptation in college compiled by Feng Tingyong et al. and the questionnaire of academic self-efficiency adapted by Liang Yusong based on the work of Pintrich and DeGroot. The correlations between learning adaptation and academic self-efficiency for college student were discussed. And conclusions are as follow:1. There was no prominent difference between male and female in learning ability self-efficiency, but the learning behavior self-efficiency for female was significant higher than that for male. There was no prominent difference between male and female in the level of adaptation for learning motivation and learning ability, but the level of adaptation for female was higher than that for male in teaching pattern, learning attitude and environment factors. 2. There was no prominent difference in learning ability self-efficiency, learning behavior self-efficiency,learning motivation, teaching pattern and learning ability for college student in different grades. However, the adaptation level of studying pattern and environment factors decreased with the increased of grade.3. There was no prominence difference between liberal art students and science students in learning ability self-efficiency, learning behavior self-efficiency,learning motivation and learning ability. But the level of adaptation development of teaching pattern, learning attitude and environment factors was significant higher for liberal art students than that for science students.4. The dimensionalities of academic self-efficiency had significance positive correlation with the dimensionalities of learning adaptation.5.
