In this article, through integrating and reflecting existent comments on Kafka's works which have been written by critics, I want to answer these questions: Why are there so many contrary comments in understanding these works? How to understand the ambiguity or the huge space in interpreting them? What is the reason? I will try to figure it out in three parts. In part one, "Interpreting Kafka's writing through three paths", I will indicate that Kafka's critics often emphasized one of three kinds of identities in Kafka, because of their deferrent traditions, knowledge backgrounds and cultural degrees. The three kinds of identities in Kafka are Kafka as a Jew, as a modern man and as an artist. So I think there are three elementary interpreting paths into Kafka. In this part, I will indicate the reasonable and weakness in all of these three paths.I will analyze them as well.In part two,"Interpreting A HUNGER ARTIST: one example", I will fist demonstrate how to interpret A HUNGER ARTIST by three paths I just mentioned before , and tell reader what kinds of situations I will face. I will reread A HUNGER ARTIST by myself also, because I want to indicate there are some unexplainable and gloomy parts in this novel. In part three,"Kafka in Middle Area", I try to analyze the source of the spiritual form in Kafka's works . I think Franz Kafka's spiritual form comes from Judaism, from Talmud exegetics. But under this kind of spiritual form, the core experienceof Kafka's works is toward "Middle Area" or "Demon". Because "Middle Area" lies on the area between the Judaic and modernity, and Franz Kafka has transformed it into writing space, so this core experience make the three interpreting paths into Kafka possible. Finally, in postscript part, I will discuss the relativity of the Franz Kafka's experience and us. If we want to understand ourselves' experience better, it is very important to review Franz Kafka's works. Deepen our experience and expand its boundaries, are the best gifts the classic works give us.
