| The researches on iconicity, a branch in Cognitive linguistics, have shown that various iconic features are salient in both English and Chinese poetry. The present thesis analyses application of letter-icons, phonological iconicity, proximity & distance iconicity, and contextual iconicity in English poems. Application of iconicity in Chinese poems will be from the perspective of morphology. |
