Le Style Est I' Homme Même

Through the Russian violin school founder Leopold Auer's learning experience, teaching philosophy, his view on "style", and the outstanding performance of his students in the 20th century violin recital world, the thesis discusses the reasons for the important role that the Russian violin school plays in the contemporary violin performance world, and the characteristic of this school—the style is the musician himself. Through exploring Auer's violin learning career, his teaching philosophy ,his view "the style is the musician himself"(Auer on style) and the performance of Auer's students (the 20th century Russian violin school), the paper also highlights Auer's fundamental influence on the Russian violin school.
