On Modern Chinese Local Novel And Intellectuals Statement

Local novel in world literature and the developing history of Chinese literature plays an important position. In its emergence and development of the long river of history, Chinese local novels have formed their own unique artistic style. On the one hand, we have to agree with Western ideas and values rationally. On the other hand, the intellectuals were influenced by the Chinese traditional culture. They witnessed the invasion of Western civilization and the inherent various disadvantages in the Western civilization, which doomed to revitalize the national culture as their missions. So the era of complexity and historical accumulation of pressure lied on their shoulders . The experience in their minds and the excavation to the people's bad quality show their native complex. The Chinese modern intellectuals entered the cities experience the sense of wandering between cities and locals, traditional and modern conflicts. They are eager to know the outside modern civilized world, strive to break through the yoke of the traditional homeland and walk into the city bravely. They accept the Enlightenment of the new culture and the washing of the urban civilization. However, after experienced several years wandering, they memorize the grass, the tree, the people, the custom and folklore in the local world.
