The Multi-dimensional Research On Contextual Function Of The Modern Chinese Adverb

This thesis has researched on the contextual function of the modem Chinese adverb from syntactical, pragmatical, diachronical aspects and so on.First, we describe the modern Chinese adverb from the syntactic point. After comparing with the differences between the spoken language and the written one, we discover that the different syntactical distributed feature of the modern Chinese adverb relate with these factors such as semantic category, syllable length, different style.Next, we analyze the contextual function of modern Chinese adverb from the pragmatical point. The different distributed features of the adverb in syntactical position, Specially in the position ahead of sentence, has producted or enhanced the contextual function of the modern Chinese adverb. The contextual function of adverb ahead of sentence occur function through, on the one hand is the adverbial discourse linkage, on the other hand is topical function of the adverb. On logical relation's point, the logical semantics relations of the adverb is complex. It may be the explanations or the example, the emphasis exceptional, strong rum, weak turn and so on. About the topical analysis of the adverbial contextual function, We explain it mainly by the theory of topic introduces and the topic advancement.Finally, we see about the diachronic process of the adverbial contextual function from reference to the historical literature such as Classic Chinese, Middle Chinese and Modern Chinese. Finally we reach the conclusion that the diachronic process of Chinese adverb contextual function is from simplicity to complexity and from originality to perfectness unceasingly.
